On this tour, you will learn about the market’s history, its layout, the «red zones» (areas to be cautious in), and the most interesting spots. I’ll tell you all about *chipa*, *mbejú*, *asadito* (grilled meat skewers), and medicinal herbs—and if you need to buy anything, I’ll help you find it.

Itinerary

The tour begins at the intersection of Petirossi Avenue and Perú Street. We’ll talk about herbal medicine—a staple of Guaraní culture—before heading into the heart of the market.

We’ll continue to the shops selling wicker goods and souvenirs—items you can take home at better prices than anywhere else in the city. We’ll pass through the meat and fish sections, as well as the produce and tobacco areas.

A little further on, we’ll check out the electronics, shoes, clothing, wedding dresses, and custom-made garments, eventually reaching the area’s oldest shopping arcade. Finally, we’ll visit the Bolivian section and the food court, where you can treat yourself to a delicious local meal if you get hungry.

Two hours of vibrant color, friendly locals, and entertainment. This tour is available any day of the week and is designed for groups of one, two, or up to three people. The price is per person for tours involving one, two, or up to three people in the first selectable option, and four, five, or up to six people in the second option.

Cancellation policy

To receive a refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the start of our Mercado 4 Asunción tour.

If you cancel the experience less than 24 hours in advance, we will not be able to refund the amount paid.
Changes to the date and time are only accepted if requested more than 24 hours before the experience begins; for requests made closer to the start time, we will try to accommodate you but cannot guarantee it.

The weather in Asunción is generally hot year-round, but there are days with torrential rain that can compromise the safety of participants. If your scheduled tour falls on one of these days and we are forced to cancel, you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund of the amount paid.
