The Areguá-Capiatá route of the Night of the Museums in Paraguay is an unmissable experience this year for those who love art, history, and living culture. Four cultural spaces will open their doors with unique offerings, and two free buses will be traveling the route from 6:00 p.m., facilitating access for all visitors.

🚏Stop: Centro Cultural del Lago (Lake Cultural Center) – Areguá
In this space, visitors can marvel at a collection of nativity scenes assembled by Ysanne Gayet over the past 15 years. This collection, which will not be for sale, represents a diversity of styles and materials that reflect the rich symbolism of the Paraguayan nativity scene as an artistic and spiritual expression.
🚏Stop: BioEscuela Popular – Areguá
A BioSchool built by its own community, a BioSchool with mud walls.
Entering El Cántaro is like feeling a circular embrace: the space revolves around the collective word, and the shelves, curious and poetic, are made from old television casings. The walls “speak” through posters made by “aregüeño’s” children; there you see the school that was born in the street and was built with hands, mud, and enthusiasm. We want to share this process of bioconstruction and the living history of the community, and invite reflection on how we care for each other and tell our stories.
From 6:00 PM, the youth orchestra plays, as it does every Saturday: without social distancing, dismantling the idea of a “show” to expose the authenticity of musical practice. At this stop on the Areguá–Capiatá route of the Night of the Museums, art isn’t viewed from the outside: it’s entered, felt, and created with us.
🚏Stop: Lucy Yegros’ Areté Cultural Center – Areguá
The Areguá-Capiatá route of the Night of the Museums in Paraguay continues at the Areté Cultural Center, where you can access the permanent exhibition of works by Lucy Yegros and view the documentary Areté, about Lucy Yegros, winner at the Sicilian Film Festival. This intimate and vibrant space offers a profound look at the artist’s creative universe, with pieces that engage with Paraguayan identity and contemporary sensibilities.
🚏Stop: Ramón Elías Mythological Museum – Capiatá
The stop in Capiatá on the Areguá-Capiatá route of the Night of the Museums in Paraguay is the Ramón Elías Mythological Museum, a space dedicated to the most emblematic figures of Paraguayan mythology. With imposing sculptures, Franciscan and Jesuit artifacts, and historical pieces from the War of the Triple Alliance and the Chaco War, this museum offers three themed rooms that connect the past with the collective imagination.
Get ready to experience Museum Night on this route, which, for the first time, will take place on the night of November 15th. A team of volunteers will also be on hand to answer any questions or address any difficulties. See you then!
