Tacurú Pucú Historical Museum – Hernandarias
Founded over 25 years ago, this museum safeguards the collective memory of Hernandarias, the oldest town of the district.
Directed by Leslie Villanueva, the museum exhibits objects, documents, and photographs that tell the local story.
Highlights include pieces related to yerba mate production and the Chaco War, presented in a museography that connects generations.
The name “Takurú Pukú” means “long termite mound” in Guaraní, evoking the rich cultural heritage of the area.

Fo Guang Shan Paraguay Temple– Ciudad del Este
This November 15th, the temple joins the Alto Paraná Night of the Museums Route with activities starting at 5:00 PM.
There will be dance, recitation, taiko drumming, Chan meditation, tai chi, and Chinese calligraphy.
The 2026 Lantern Painting Contest will be held, with prizes up to 500,000 Guaraníes.
You can also enjoy vegetarian food, exhibitions, a souvenir shop, and guided tours.

ITAIPU Museum Tierra Guaraní – White Hall
Although its permanent exhibition is currently under renovation, it features a temporary exhibit called “Anidando Paraguay” (Nestling Paraguay). This exhibition brings together works by female artists depicting the country’s birds, alongside specimens from the biological and ethnographic collection.
Guided tours offer insights into the importance of biodiversity and Guarani culture.

Ka aty of the Philosophy Faculty of UNE – Los Yerbales
It displays historical artifacts from the War of the Triple Alliance and the Chaco War. You’ll also find antique tools such as irons, typewriters, and radios of the beginning of modern administration.

El Mensu Museum– Ciudad del Este
