The Itapúa Route Night of the Museums invites you to discover the region’s rich history and culture through a nighttime tour filled with memory, tradition, and art. Each venue opens its doors for visitors to enjoy unique experiences, from Encarnación’s railway dreams to the traces of immigrants and the Jesuit missions.
Encarnación Municipal Railway Museum
A place where the rails tell stories. Here, the dream of Don Carlos Antonio López, who envisioned a modern and connected Paraguay, is brought to life.
- The railway arrived in Encarnación in 1911, and in 1913, the station was inaugurated along with the ferry connection to Argentina.
- This event marked an economic and futuristic shift for the country. The museum offers a retrospective of this legacy and shares it with visitors throughout the year.
Museum of Immigrants and House of Culture – Bella Vista
Located in General Bernardino Caballero Square, this museum occupies the city’s first municipal building.
- Since 1993, it has preserved objects from the first immigrant families: photographs, utensils, musical instruments, automobiles, and pioneering tools.
- During Museum Night, tours will be offered every 30 minutes, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
- At 8:00 PM, the Bella Vista Municipal Orchestra will offer a special concert.

Aventura Selecta
In this space, visitors can explore the Mate Bar, tour the Gallery of Dreams, and enjoy a mate or tereré tasting in the Mate Corner.

Raatz House Museum – Pajarito Yerba Mate Factory
A journey through the history and tradition of Paraguayan yerba mate.
- Discover the legacy of the Yerba Mate Pajarito brand, a symbol of national identity.

Jesuit Mission of Trinidad
On Saturday, November 15th, at 9:00 PM, experience a cultural tour of lights and sound, a contemplative experience that transports visitors to the daily life of the Jesuit era.
- Trinidad was founded in 1706 and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993.
- The tour culminates at the site museum, which houses collections recovered between 1973 and 1990.
Ángela Ponce and Edgon Richter Museum – Hohenau
A journey to the roots of the settlers at the Edwin Krug Historical and Cultural Center.
- It exhibits objects related to communication, domestic life, production, and clothing of the first immigrants.
- The Chaco Peace Room stands out, featuring pieces used in the Chaco War.
- The basement honors the agricultural work that fueled the growth of the United Colonies.
In addition, the center offers classes in music, art, and other disciplines, making it a vibrant cultural space.

- Another will connect the museums of Encarnación.
